Competitions

The club runs a number of competitions with various formats throughout the year.
For all of our ‘competitions’, the emphasis is less on competitiveness and very much more on holding a fun social event. So, whatever your standard of play, please do not be put off by the competitive description and don’t worry if you do not understand the rules, they are not complicated and other members will be more than willing to explain them to you. Come along and have a go!
Please note that the course is generally closed for approximately 3-4 hours whilst competitions are in progress.

Junior Golf - The programme for Summer 2020 has been cancelled this year

During the summer we offer fully Supervised Children’s Golf Sessions, specifically run for children from ages 7 to 11.
The programme runs for 5 weeks from 9:00 am to 10:30 am on Saturday mornings starting on 15th June and ending on 13th July 2019.
Fully supervised by adults and with all equipment supplied (although if they have their own clubs and would like to use them, that's fine too), it’s a great way to introduce children to Golf or help them to improve. And, subject to them achieving a minimum standard gives them a chance to play on a real course.
As in previous years we will concentrate on the basics of the game - the grip, the stance, the use of the different clubs and a few of the 'boring' rules, but of course there will also be lots of fun hitting golf balls (with a mini tournament in the last week).
The total cost is £25 for each child for the 5 week course, payable on the first Saturday.
This has been a very popular course over the last five years; spaces are limited and are allocated on a ‘first come first served' basis. So, if you are interested, then for more details or to book a space, please contact Callum Findlay at juniorvillagegolf@yahoo.com.
